St John's Road Hove is a charismatic, small one-way thoroughfare running from the junction at its north end with Palmeira Square, down to the seafront. It is lined with an eclectic mixture of dwellings, studios, workshops and small offices, and is a lively and bustling commercial community.

The Printhouse occupies nos 26 to 28, on the western side of the road, next door to St John's Church at the extreme western end of the rectangular gardens, where Brighton meets Hove and where Western Road Brighton becomes Church Road Hove.

Hove station is a ten-minute walk away and the square is served by many buses, being on the main route between Brighton and Hove and running all along the South Coast.
